Durie Buni

Durie Buni is a passionate artist, storyteller, and art director from Mechukha, Arunachal Pradesh, now based in Thim- phu, Bhutan. A self-taught painter skilled in various medi- ums, she brings emotion and cultural depth to her work. Durie began as a background artist and evolved into illus- tration and storytelling, drawing inspiration from ancestral wisdom and Bhutanese philosophy. She has led major pro- jects including The Legend of Pemi Tshewang Tashi and the Dream Blanket graphic novel. Founder of Thongdrel Studios, she is currently working on several children’s books. Her two children remain her greatest inspiration and her most honest critics.
