Ariana Maki is an art historian specializing in Bhutan and the Himalaya. In addition to teaching at the university level in the U.S., she regularly curates exhibitions and is actively involved in collaborative digital humanities projects that provide open-access resources to document, promote, and increase appreciation of Himalayan communities and cultures. Ariana has researched, taught, and volunteered in Bhutan regularly since 2007, including two appointments as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar. She is currently working with Bhutanese partners to author the country’s first art history. Ariana also serves as an adviser to Bhutan Echoes.
