Dr. S. Natesh taught botany at the University of Delhi for nearly a decade before moving to the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. Following his superannuation from DBT in 2012, he served as a senior consultant at the National Institute of Immunology, Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Natesh received the Biospectrum Lifetime Achievement Award for taking the Indian Biosciences Sector to new heights. A new plant species, Aponogeton nateshii has been named in his honour.
