Karuna Ezara Parikh is a former television anchor, writer and poet, widely known for her activism. She has written for The Wire, India Today, Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue, Grazia, Lonely Planet and others. Her novel, The Heart Asks Pleasure First, was published by Pan Macmillan in 2020, followed by a collection of poetry, Where Stories Gather, published by Harper Collins in 2021. Forthcoming is a travel memoir, Waterbaby, out in 2024. She is the co-founder of the sustainable company The Burlap People.
