Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee is the Ford Foundation International Professor of Economics at MIT and co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). He is a fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and co-recipient of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. He has authored six books, including Poor Economics and Good Economics for Hard Times. Banerjee has served on the U.N. Secretary-General’s High-level Panel and holds key roles with Save the Children USA, the British Museum, and global advisory panels on education and COVID-19.
