Radha Chakravarty is a writer, critic and translator. She has co-edited The Essential Tagore, nominated Book of the Year 2011. She is the author of Feminism and Contemporary Women Writers and Novelist Tagore: Gender and Modernity in Selected Texts. She has translated some of Tagore’s important works, as well as the writings of several major Bengali writers from India and Bangladesh. She has also edited and co-edited a number of anthologies of South Asian literature. She was nominated for the Crossword Translation Award, 2004. Chakraverty is Professor of Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, Ambedkar University, Delhi.
