Thakur S Powdyel

Gusi Peace Laureate and former Minister of Education, Professor Thakur S. Powdyel is an educator by choice, conviction, and passion. A strong advocate for Education as the Noble Sector, Moral Literacy, and Gross National Happiness, he is deeply committed to both the inner and outer life of Bhutan. Widely regarded as the most extensively foot-travelled education minister, he has represented Bhutan on global platforms. His acclaimed book My Green School has been translated into 19 languages. Honoured with numerous accolades—including the Druk Thuksey, an Honorary Doctorate in Innovation Education, and induction into Brazil’s Marianense Academy of Letters—his impact is global.
