Tshering Cigay

Tshering Cigay is an engineer by profession, but a storyteller at heart. He blogs and contributes regularly to newspapers and journals, and has co-authored a biography titled “Dasho Nishioka – a Japanese who lived for Bhutan”. He wrote a weekly full page technology column in Kuensel,Bhutan’s national newspaper, for one and half years from June 2021 to December 2022. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Australia, and Masters and PhD in Natural Language Processing from Japan. He started his career with Bhutan Telecom in 2000, and later worked with Thimphu TechPark from 2012 to January 2022. He currently works as a Technology Consultant and the ICT Domain Lead for the Desuung Skilling Program.
