Even before her undergraduate degree in English Literature, Nangsel has been an explorer of the power of words. In the last four years as a lecturer, she has dedicated her classes in literature, linguistics, creative writing and rhetoric to help students discover the enduring magic of words and their ability to influence, engender reflection within and without, and comment on social issues.

Beyond analyzing the written word, she also believes in harnessing the power of words to enact change, which is why she is the occasional public feminist activist.

She was a fellow in the She Leads and She Inspires program, delivered by the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), designed for emerging women leaders in the Asia-Pacific region and focused on enhancing OpenStreetMapping capabilities while developing critical leadership skills.
